The Foreign Ministers will discuss relations between the two countries and Montenegro’s path towards EU membership. Other items on the agenda will be current European security issues related to the activities of NATO and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

“Finland has good and increasingly closer relations with the Western Balkan countries. Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Filip Ivanović’s visit to Finland will only strengthen these. I recently met the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, at a meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Finland supports Montenegro’s journey towards EU membership. In addition, Finland and Montenegro are new NATO allies,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Valtonen.

While in Finland, Foreign Minister Ivanović will also meet Speaker of Parliament Jussi Halla-Aho.
